Children and Families’ Worker – Cornerstone Mission Area

Part of The Centenary Project in the Diocese of Sheffield

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £25,000 per annum (£13.74 per hour)

This is an opportunity to join the Diocese of Sheffield’s exciting initiative, The Centenary Project, as a Children & Families’ Worker.  We are looking for a committed Christian to join our team who has experience in working with Children and Families who will develop and co-ordinate the work in the life of the church and the wider community.

You will lead and grow a team of volunteers, build on the strong links with the local schools and be part of the Centenary Project Network.

General responsibilities: –

  1. To work with local schools, alongside an existing team, and to be a pioneer, creating new ways of connecting with children and families.
  2. To lead and grow a team of volunteers who will help to engage and nurture children and their families in the life of the church and wider communities.
  3. To be a member of the Centenary Project Network.

Given the nature and context of the work it is an occupational requirement that the post holder should be a communicant member of the Church of England or a full member of a church within Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Contract: 3 years fixed-term contract
