All Saints Totley is transforming their building into first century Bethlehem, complete with characters from the first nativity.
From the 5th to the 7th December the church will be offering people the chance to travel back in time in an immersive Christmas Experience. People will follow the twists and turns of the nativity story, see the characters from the first Christmas and hear their story first hand. “At a time when many of us are looking with shock and sadness at what is happening in the middle east,” said Rev Ben Tanner, “the events of the first Christmas, are a story of hope coming to real people in a dark time. If there was ever a year we needed to see the prince of peace in the manger, surely it’s this one.”
“This is our third year of running Christmas experience in Totley, Last year, over 1,300 people stepped into the Christmas story with us and this year we hope to reach even more.” The Christmas experience is free for all, but due to popularity booking is required. The church asks people to book a time slot at www.allsaintstotley.church/Christmas
All Saints are also offering a range of other Christmas events including Carols in the Pub, Carols by Candlelight and Christmas eve Chaotic Family Carols. “It’s a fresh expression of an age-old message bringing the hope so desperately needed this Christmas,” added Tanner.
