Welcome to the Diocesan Community of Evangelists, a diverse group of evangelists from across Sheffield Diocese. We exist to support evangelism and evangelists across Sheffield Diocese.
Equipping people to share their faith
Could we help you to equip church members to shine as ‘lights for Christ’ in their everyday lives? We want to help people to be confident to share their faith in Jesus with their friends and family. This could include recommending materials for you to use yourselves.
Evangelistic events with local churches
We have members who could work alongside you in planning a wide variety of evangelistic events. We also have people who, with the help of God’s Spirit, can communicate the good news of Jesus imaginatively and well. We would love to serve you in these ways, in one-off events around the calendar or a mission weekend/week.
Support & equipping for those who have a calling to evangelistic ministry
We are not a ‘closed shop’. Our membership includes Lay Parish Evangelists, Church Army Evangelists, lay people, priests and a bishop! If you are an evangelist looking for support from those with a similar calling, please get in touch. You can join a mailing list and be kept in touch with our meetings and other news.
Bishop Sophie, John Hibberd and Mark Brown work as a team to offer support to this group and coordinate communications. Each of them, along with a growing list of others, is a member of the Archbishops’ College of Evangelists. This national body encourages us to bring together evangelists within dioceses to serve our churches in their evangelism.
