Notes for Guidance
1. AIM OF THE TRUST
“The principle aim of the trustees is to initiate projects which enable the church to be more socially responsible.” Please consider carefully whether we are the most appropriate Trust to apply to, in order to meet your needs.
Specifically excluded from our consideration are grants in support of political parties, funding of individuals, support of major appeals and on-going funding of salaries and church fabric appeals.
Because of the limited funds available, Trustees have decided to prioritise applications from high need areas.

WHIRLOW BURSARY FUND FOR PARISHES
Last Updated on Thursday, 17 February 2011 10:01
WHIRLOW BURSARY FUND
From the beginning of 1988 the Whirlow Management Committee as it then was has been instructed to fix charges on a commercial basis – i.e. so that income covers expenditure.
In 2004 Whirlow became a limited company financially independent of the diocese of Sheffield.
Whirlow continues to offer a concessionary rate for Church and Church-Related Charitable groups and this rate will have been offered to parishes and individuals attending events organised by Whirlow staff.
The Diocese recognises, however, that the cost of accommodation, etc at Whirlow may be beyond the means of individuals and families in parishes.
