Although not replacing our need to Give as Christians in thanks to God for his gifts to us, some people wish to continue their Giving after their death by leaving a legacy to their church. This leaflet, which is available from the Giving Department, helps us to think about this.
Faith and My Church >>
Legacy Initiative
An Initiative has been launched in the Diocese to promote the writing of wills and leaving of legacies amongst church members. The principal objective of the Initiative is to raise awareness amongst church members of the good sense of getting their affairs in order by writing a will. The second goal is to make clear what benefits a legacy can bring a church by making something possible that otherwise could not be achieved and therefore encourage people to think more positively about writing their church into their will.
A pack is being sent to all churches in the Diocese with practical advice on writing a will and how best to leave something to the church. Christians are asked to consider sharing not only their income but their wealth in gratitude for all they have been given by God in their lives.
