The Bishop of Sheffield’s Shrove Tuesday Lectures will this year be delivered by Dr Fraser Watts, Reader in Theology and Science in the University of Cambridge, next Tuesday (21 February, 10am) at Victoria Hall Methodist Mission, Sheffield.
There will be two lectures one on “Beliefs and Insights” and the other on “Prayer and Worship”.
Dr Fraser is a Fellow of Queens’ College and also Chaplain of St Edward’s Church in Cambridge and an Honorary Canon of Ely Cathedral.
His research focuses mainly in the interface between theology and psychology, and his recent books include Spiritual Healing, Jesus and Psychology, Forgiveness in Context and Theology and Psychology.
They are provided for clergy and church workers as a day of reflection and study before they plunge into leading others during the season of Lent, which Christians use as a time of preparation for Holy Week & Easter.
For those not able to attend the main day on Shrove Tuesday, Dr Fraser will be at the Exhibition Space in the new Jessop West building, Sheffield University the previous evening.
