Gift Aid

Gift Aid allows the Church to claim back the tax on gifts by UK taxpayers. Income and capital gains tax paid for the year must be at least equal to the tax to be reclaimed.

Higher Rate Taxpayers and Gift Aid

If you have over £36,000 of taxable income in the tax year 2008/9, you are a higher rate taxpayer and will pay tax at 40% on any earnings above this.
