St Leonard's Thrybergh

St Leonard's Thrybergh has won 'gold' award in Rotherham in Bloom competition – Faith Buildings category.  The achievement was marked with a glass plague, a framed certificate and gardening vouchers. The awards were presented by the Mayor & Mayoress of Rotherham at Winthrop Park on 23 September.

CHURCH FUNDING

The Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust funds churches near to certain landfill sites particularly for work involving disabled access and toilets, as well as building repairs. If you think you qualify and have a suitable project, you are encouraged to make an application before their next meeting in December. Further information is available on www.yhct.org.uk.

 

St Peter's Thrybergh StPeter's Church will be 100 years old in 2009. We are buy planning a series of events to celebrate this wonderful occasion.  As part of this we are planning an Exhibiotn of photos and memorabilia.  Were you married or baptised at St Peter's? HYMN BOOKS WANTED

Have any parishes unwanted or unused copies of Mission Praise in the hardback edition, white/pale blue cover, 798 hymns/songs in it? It came out about 10 years ago and Grenoside Crematorium in North Sheffield need more copies in their two chapels. They might offer a donation for them!

THE DAWN SCHOOL PACK

 One day workshop to train facilitators to use the School Pack   Dawn has developed a successful programme for primary aged children whose parents have separated or divorced. It helps children come to terms with their feelings and develop ways of coping with the problems in their lives. The pack contains a course that can be delivered to groups of primary aged children that meets once a week for about and hour over an eight week period (with a follow up session later). MISSION SHAPED MINISTRY – MSM

‘mission shaped ministry’ is a one year part-time course which aims to equip you to begin this ministry.  It is for those churches who want to explore mission options or starting a fresh expression of church

The course involves seven evenings, three Saturdays, and one residential weekend, for a cost of £260. You will learn about leadership, vision, team, community, culture, listening, church, evangelism, discipleship, contextual worship and other topics relevant to effective mission. Support will be available through networking, mentoring and accompaniment.
