| REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY |

Services in churches across the Diocese will commemorate Remembrance Sunday this weekend (8th November) with parades, acts of worship and tributes.
The Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Steven Croft, will be at Sprotbrough for the Remembrance Service at St Mary’s Church. The Bishop will speak during the 10am service, before joining the congregation, uniformed organisations bearing standards, members of the British Legion and members of the National Malaya and Borneo Veterans Association at the outdoor War Memorial for a formal Act of Remembrance.
A bugle call will be played, and the congregation will observe two minutes’ silence.
Sheffield Cathedral choir will sing Faure’s Requiem at the 1030 Cathedral Service at which a 2 minutes silence will be kept.
Amongst the other services taking place will be an All Age Service of Remembrance (1030) at St Andrew’s Psalter Lane to remember those who have died in war, keep two minutes’ silence, pray for peace and lay a wreath in the church’s Garden of Remembrance.
Also at St Andrew’s on Tuesday 10th November (7.30 pm), there will be a concert entitled Men Who March Away, with songs, hymns and readings for the Eve of Remembrance Day with the Sheffield Folk Chorale & the choir of St Andrew’s Psalter Lane.
Meanwhile, on Sunday in Snaith & Hatfield there will be various services including an 11.00 Remembrance Day act of worship at St Cuthbert's Churchyard (Fishlake) and an evening service of Remembrance (6.30pm) at Holy Trinity, Sykehouse.
